The California Elite
Soccer Club GU16 and GU17 had a solid showing at the 34 Annual
Toyota of Orange Classic Tournament!
The GU17
Team brought home the championship! The girls scored 20 goals
in the four games of play and gave up only 6. With a 4-2
victory in the final, the girls look forward to continual
development, progress, and success on the field of play. Goals
were scored by Stephanie Galarze, Monique Diaz, Sonya Bernal,
Kaylee Sandefer, Ann Marie Bessacini, Cynthia Argote, Noelle
Guzman, Rebecca Rodriguez, Shannon Young and Victoria
Alvarado. WOW! Also, the solid Defensive play of Leanne Brown,
Addison Green, Samantha Barajas, Charity Blanton, Lauren Avila
and Cynthia Argote was tremendous. Vanessa Romo did an
outstanding job of solidifying the tempo of the midfield.
Congratulations Girls!
The GU16
Team played in their third tournament of the year. After
placing in the semi-finals and winning a championship in their
first two tournaments, they reached the finals again. Winning
their first three games, scoring 8 goals and only giving up
two, they played the Untouchables for the second time. With a
2-0 victory over them the previous day, the girls faced
playing their second game of the day with only eleven players,
no substitutes. Playing to a 2-2 tie, the teams went to two 10
minute overtime periods with no goals. The game ended after
the ninth PK, with the Untouchables ahead. Overall, a good
showing and outstanding developmental tournament. Keep up the
great work girls!
Congratulations GU16 Team on
Uniting to win the championship at The Fullerton Rangers
Tournament on July 21 and 22, 2007. With just two
tournaments played for this new team, they have accomplished a
semi-final placing and a championship. WOW! The
tournament MVP was Kristina Kubli. Great Job Kibbles!
